Rhubarb Season

Rhubarb is a vegetable stalk of a perennial herb grown in many areas around the world. Thanks to the greenhouse, rhubarb is available to us from early spring (before outdoor grown rhubarb is available) to late September. In some places, you can get rhubarb throughout entire year.

In general, rhubarb can grow all year around in warm climate places. In the greenhouses, rhubarb can be encourages to grown even earlier by rising the temperature and covering the new plant with upturned bucket. It can be planted even in containers, as long as the container is big enough to accommodate a season’s growth.

During the 19th century falling prices of sugar resulted in a huge rhubarb boom between the World War One and World War two.
